Scholarship Opportunities for Hospitality Management Students
If you have declared your major in the Hospitality Management curriculum and are in good standing, then you are probably a candidate for a scholarship with one or more of the following organizations and foundations. If you need a letter from a faculty member to support your application, please provide a resume and the scholarship requirements to your preferred faculty member with a minimum of two weeks prior to the scholarship deadline.

American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation Scholarship Program. Scholarship applications are accepted between January 2 to May 1 each year. During 2012, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 343 hospitality management students totaling more than $514,500.
Network of Executive Women in Hospitality, Inc (NEWH) Scholarship Program. Scholarship applications are accepted between January 1 to March 1 each year. Please see Dr. Linda Ralston for an application and a letter of support. Dr. Ralston is a member of the Las Vegas Chapter of NEWH to which students from the University of Utah may apply for a scholarship from NEWH.
Tourism Cares awards more than $80,000 in 57 scholarships annually and manages 1.7 million in scholarship funds. Scholarship applications are typically accepted between February 1 to April 1 each year. The scholarships are endowed by both individual donors and the following travel, tourism, and hospitality industry associations:
University of Utah Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Scholarship Program accepts scholarship applications from November 1 to January 15 each year. Please see the website for the current application and deadline. (Last year's application) The following scholarships are designated for undergraduate students:

- Must have real financial need
- Must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A.
- Must have a career objective in the Hospitality Industry (i.e., Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary, Food Service, Architecture, Design, etc.)
