University of Utah Hospitality Management Program

In line with the explosive growth in the travel and tourism industry, we are proud to offer a specialization in Hospitality Management within the Bachelor of Science Parks, Recreation and Tourism Curriculum.
The University of Utah Hospitality Management program prepares students for a career in the rapidly growing hotel and lodging industry. The program is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, operational expertise, and technical skills to be successful lodging and food service managers.
PRT 3100 Foundations of PRT Presentation:
Curriculum: The courses in the program cover the major aspects of hospitality, including marketing, accounting, resort management, food and beverage, convention management, hospitality law, and front office procedures. Students who complete the program would be employed in various supervisory and entry-level management positions in hotels and restaurants throughout the hospitality industry.
Hospitality Operations Certificate Program: We also offer an eight course Hospitality Operations Certificate Program through the American Hotel and Lodging Association . These courses are available to students in the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, as electives for students within another major at the University of Utah, or as non credit courses for individuals who would like to take them for career development and certification.
Upon successful completion of the eight courses, students will receive the internationally recognized Hospitality Operations Certificate awarded by the American Hotel and Lodging Association/Educational Institute (AHLA). Successful completion of each course will also earn you a Certificate of Completion from the American Hotel and Lodging Association/Educational Institute (AHLA).
